13:07, this year's ars electronica festival, taking place in linz (austria) is all about code and its visual, social and collective aspects, apart from the very relaxed atmosphere and the awesome afterparties. i visited a very interesting presentation about proce55ing, a new programming language/interface with which also beginners are able to create visually strong applications in a more intuitive and effective way. but it's also a serious code-sketching solution for advanced programmers like ed burton, creator of the famous soda.constructor. ars electronica's artistic program featured "messa di voce", a concert performance in which the speech, shouts and songs produced by a duet of abstract vocalists are radically augmented in real-time by tmema's visualization sofware. tmema is golan levin and zachary lieberman having produced this wonderful piece of art. with 3d-goggles and your view focused onto 3 huge displays you step into a completely new and impressing world.
